Rajibpur is 8 km from Bangla Desh boarder and is isolated from main routes. It is in State of West Bengal, Dakshin Dinajpur District, and in the diocese of Raiganj. In the year 1970, Holy Cross Sisters arrived here under the leadership of late Sr. Gemma, with other volunteers to take care of the refugees of Bangla Desh Liberation war. In the year 1971, Holy Cross sisters and other volunteers nursed the wounded soldiers, and took care of the other patients and vaccinated thousands of children. In later years the sisters set up a primary school, a 15 bedded hospital and a high school for the girls. High school, later on was affiliated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and is aided by the Government. The school has a government recognized hostel for tribal girl students, who get Government stipend.
At present there are 13 sisters in the community engaged in various apostolic activities.
