Rajganj, Balaigach is a rural village in the district of Jalpaiguri, in the state of West Bengal, within the diocese of Jalpaiguri. It is 23 km away from Siliguri. It is a rural area which is one of the most economically and educationally backward regions of West Bengal. NJP is the nearest Railway station. It is not difficult to travel to Rajganj, as there are buses from Siliguri going to Jalpaiguri which stops at Rajganj, Balaigach.
Holy Cross community, Rajganj was founded in 2010. The main purpose of its establishment was to provide hostel facilities to the girls who attended St. Xavier’s college run by Darjeeling Jesuits.
Later on a school was established to cater to the educational needs of the local children. This school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and has strength of around 1000 students from classes nursery to 12.
The school caters to different groups of children who come from various cultural groups. Holy Cross school is heading towards excellence in spite of all odds. It is one of the best schools in the locality.
At present there are 11 sisters engaged in various activities.
