Bokola village is situated 8 km away from Balipara, in the district of Sonitpur, in the state of Assam within the diocese of Tezpur. It is inhabited by various tribal groups.

On 24th January, 2013 Holy Cross community, Bokola was officially established with invitation of the Ranchi Jesuits. Jesuits handed over their primary school which was a feeder school for St. John’s school, Balipara to the Holy Cross sisters.
At present there are 04 sisters engaged in the education ministry.
