Bicentennial Celebration
Bicentennial Celebration

Bicentennial Celebration: The yearlong celebration of the Bicentennial Jubilee of our co-founder, Blessed Mother Mary Theresa Scherer, was a grand and spiritually uplifting event that united sisters, students, staff, and parishioners in honoring her remarkable legacy.  Quiz competitions were held in the province for sisters and the students of our schools.

The province-level closing ceremony of the Bicentennial Jubilee on 31 October, was a spiritually enriching and inspiring event for the sisters of the province.  Rt. Rev. Paul Simick, the Bishop of Bagdogra diocese graced the occasion presiding the Eucharistic celebration.  The life and legacy of Blessed Mother Maria Theresa Scherer depicted meaningfully through a Dance-Drama by the students of Sonada Holy Cross Girls’ Higher Secondary School on the occasion was a touching tribute to our co-Foundress.  The entire province was exhorted to bloom and bear fruits of the values of compassion, faith, hope and love with renewed dedication, wherever we are planted as each community offered a sapling during the offertory.

A work born of deep reflection, dedication and vision: A Biography of Blessed Mother Maria Theresa Scherer, written by Sr. Dr. Merlyn George Kanjirakombil was released on the occasion of the closing of the Bicentenary celebrations.  We congratulate Sr. Merlyn George for delving into the roots of our congregation through this book.
