The convent building, formerly known as ‘Romola Villa” at Kurseong was purchased in 1956, from Miss. Sheila Sen. Initially the building was purchased for a holiday home for the missionary sisters to provide rest and solace during the scorching heat of the summer in the plains. Soon the sisters started getting involved in various activities. A dispensary and Kindergarten was opened, needlework and stitching classes were given to the girls of nearby villages. In the year 1970 a school building was constructed through the initiative of Sr. Valentiana for the education of women and children of the locality. Home Science Teachers’ Training was started.
